Therapy session 2

I've not had the time to shop much but i did manage to zip online and buy these. Floral tube dress... I ripped the pic off the webpage itself... item arrived today.. pretty but... i didn't realise they had used a pretty stunted model for the catalogue.. the dress is a wee bit too short on me, ends just after my butt...

This is the other item i ordered- a white off shoulder top. I am still waiting for it to arrive.

Skye comes home on monday, I doubt I can do much shopping before that.. so I guess that's all the retail therapy i'll be getting... or rather, needing. :)

The Mystery of Attraction

Cindy Crawford was on the TYRA Show today.

yadda yadda yadda... she mentioned that a long time ago, she was set up for a date with Alec Baldwin. And when he turned up at her doorstep and she opened the door, she noticed his look of disappointment. Like he was expecting a walking talking COSMO cover. But she was just normal, dressed up for the date yes.. but not styled and made up for a shoot. And he was disappointed! Imagine that. How shallow people can get.

Anway, she then went on to mention that you know you've found the right guy when he doesn't mind how you look without the make up. And you know you've found the right girl when you like the way she looks when she wakes up in the morning.

Mole face makes good sense, does she not?

;) kidding abt the mole face bit, lah!
-----------------------

But seriously, we are all drawn to attractive people because it's basic human survival instinct. Attractive people = Good genes
Good genes = healthier, better off spring

For instance, female peacocks will choose males with the longest tail feathers--the peacock version of Brad Pitt. These more attractive features usually indicate some level of genetic fitness, such as disease resistance, that the female's offspring will then also inherit.

Yes yes.. of course I'm only talking about basic level attraction. The first encounter kind... the person who gets your visual attention first in a room full of people. I am fully aware that thankfully we humans have evolved and most of us would not be with the long-tail-feather peacock/Brad-Pitt if they had a shit character.

But I have to admit, when I was growing up, I was more tolerant of mistakes and slip ups when I was dating men who were attractive... while the mediocre ones were booted out the door because they sat themselves down at the table before giving me a seat!

ahh... the mystery of attraction....

April Randomness

Skye and I on the MRT... on our way to Little India to eat curry.

A Thing Or Two Trivia: On our very first date, we somehow ended up on the streets of Little India... very late at night, I had no idea where we were walking to ( I wanted to go to where all the fish head curry restaurants were!). Never found that stretch of road.. stuck in the seedy and dodgy zone... Quite the disaster haha. But it was all made up more than a year later when we finally went back to have curry at the right part of Little India.

My darling allowing me to put highlights in his hair. Allowing someone to do your hair takes a lot of trust... and just look at how cute my bubba is!

A Thing Or Two Trivia: I was never meant to be a hair stylist. I suck at it but I still like to play with my Bf's hair. :)

Had dinner at Cafe Del Mar last week. (Thank you Jason for sorting out last minute reservations!) Went there with Tyronne, Skye's friend from Thailand. The Lamb there is good. You see that pretty looking pink drink in the martini glass? Stay away from it. Watermelon martini is vile.

A Thing Or Two Trivia: My favourite drink is the Lychee Martini. It's easy to make too... Vodka, Lychee syrup/ or lychee liquer and a plump lychee (syrup and fruit from the can). When I throw my own house party, it'll be one with Lychee Martinis.

Haven't had the time to go shopping this week. Had sports day heats, and courses to go for in the afternoon. Enough about work! I did manage to buy myself a Hello Kitty Tank top and a Disney Cuties sweater!

A Thing Or Two Trivia: Yes! My bed sheet you see in the background is vintage Strawberry Shortcake. One day Hello Kitty will reach Vintage status too. :)

I am my own Freud.

Skye's off to China tomorrow, his student Chris Rogers is playing the European tour... and he's there to coach/caddy for Chris in Shanghai & Beijing.

What sould I do in the next two weeks to keep from burrying myself in work and keep me sane?

I'd say exercise. But that hasn't worked out very well for me lately.

I think i'll go shopping everyday and spend the 2 weeks worth of taxi $ which would have been used to travel from his place to mine. Sounds like a plan.

Retail therapy is shopping with the primary purpose of improving the buyer's mood or disposition. Basically, just buy things that make you feel good.

I get a greater pleasure from wearing something that I've just bought rather than something I've already worn before (even if I look good in it).
:) SHooooeeeezzzzz

I'll update you on my loot.

Fluff and Stuff

Ok. I know, it's been about three whole weeks since I last blogged.

*head bowed in shame* But I have a demanding job. And recently, I've been so bogged down by it, I've not had the mood to post.

So to cheer myself up, I searched for pretty things online. If you don't already know... I just love Hello Kitty stuff and girly fluff.

I was brought up a girly girl, typical pink frock wearing, Barbie doll playing, teddy bear hugging, My Little Pony watching, having 2 Caboodle cases full of play make up type of Girl.

By the way, I see nothing wrong with it. Best childhood any girl could ever ask for in my opinion.

So this is another fluff filled entry in my blog (about time too).

Holly Jean's TOP FIVE most coveted Hello Kitty Merchandise. (Only shit thing is - most of them are over priced..... that and I actually don't like cats. I prefer dogs. I guess Hello Kitty is the only exception I make)

Anyway here they are:

Tied at Number 5: Hello Kitty Laundry Bin.

Hello Kitty Hard Case Luggage.

Number 4: Hello Kitty Mobile Phone

I'll probably lose or damage it within a month though.... I've never had much luck with phones

But it's so so so very pretty!
Number 3: Hello Kitty Mini Fridge
(Perfect storage for my make up and perfume)

Number 2: Hello Kitty Sheets
Sweet dreams are made of these...who am I to disagree...

Number 1!!! Hello Kitty Lap Top
Complete with pink faux fur trim!

I want to cuddle this.

OK... Give me Please. Thank you . (haha...)
